Frankfurt Hahn to Neu Isenburg centre

We land at Frankfurt Hahn terminal 2 and need a bus to Neu Isenburg shopping centre. Were do we get the bus and the costs. Will a taxi be better?

If you arrive from South Africa you will land at Frankfurt International Airport (FRA). Which has direct buses from there to Neu-Isenburg.

(Frankfurt-)Hahn Airport (HHN) is 125 km west of Neu-Isenburg. But only one terminal there.

DB timetable

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/e

From: FRA

From: HHN

To: Neu-Isenburg

Frankfurt Airport to Neu-Isenburg by bus is EUR 2,40.

From Hahn Airport you need first a shuttle bus to Frankfurt Airport (EUR 12,00).

Changing terminals at Frankfurt Airport (see right column):

The buses to Neu-Isenburg depart either from bus stop 17 or 18 in front of Terminal 1.

Outstanding information. This clarifies and makes it easy to find my way around. Thank you.

We want to take a day cruise on the Rhein from Mainz to St Gaor. Can we take a train from Neu Isenburg station to Mainz direct or do we have to travel to Frankfurt main station first?

Also would the KD cruises be recommended?

Fastest option to Mainz is normally again bus to Frankfurt Airport and by train from there. Just use again the DB timetable to check your options.

Starting from Mainz you don't have any alternative anyway.

Most interesting is however the part along the Rhine between Bingen/Rüdesheim to Koblenz. The Mainz - Bingen part is not as scenic and also less frequently served.

You could also start at Bingen and travel till Braubach, visiting Marksburg Castle there and return by train.

Ticket wise you can buy a RMV mini group day ticket from Neu-Isenburg to Mainz for EUR 25,00 (single is EUR 7,30). This ticket covers the route via Frankfurt airport. Travelling via Frankfurt itself is more expensive, as you cross more RMV tariff zones.

From Mainz to Bingen and back from Braubach to Mainz you can use a Rheinland-Pfalz Ticket (RPT). EUR 24,00 for 2 persons. Covers all regional trains between Mainz/Wiesbaden and Koblenz (actually as far as Bonn).

Both tickets cover also the trams and buses in Mainz. A valid train ticket gets you a 20% discount on the KD boats.
