Hi,

When you land from San Antonio, follow the black signs above you, to baggage claim. Baggage claim for both terminals C and E is located in terminal C. Once you claim your bags, go downstairs from baggage claim on the elevators with large silver doors, that you will see near the escalator, in the baggage claim area. Take the elevators to the "T", or Interterminal Train level; it is down one floor from the baggage area. Get on the train, and ride it to the D/E Terminal stop. The train has announcements as you reach each terminal, to help you find your stop.

Getting off the train at the D/E terminal stop, take the elevators you will see in the center of that area up one level,to the walkway. (push the"W": Walkway to Terminal D button). When you exit the elevators onto the walkway, you will look down and see a long hallway. Follow the hallway to the end,and you will see elevators framed by red trim. Take the elevators up one level to "check in", and you will find the Emirates counter there.

After you check your bags in to Emirates, you will then go through a typical TSA security checkpoint (shoes off , laptops out of their cases, etc), and proceed to the gate for your Emirates flight. Terminal D is not that large, and your gate should be easy to find. There is a duty free store,as well as a store for magazines, drinks and snacks, as well as a few other small stores, in Terminal D.

Do not hesitate to ask anyone you see that is working at IAH, as I am sure they will be glad to help you find your way.

Enjoy your trip!

cc,

Cupcake

You should check with United not Emirates.

cpvn--It sounds as though you must claim your luggage in terminal C baggage claim. Then take the underground train (a short ride of no more than 2-3 minutes) and your luggage to Terminal D, and take the elevator up to the ticketing area, where you will check your bags at Emirate Air.

You will then need to go through security again yourself. The process is fairly simple, but will take some time.

If you have trouble understanding this, please advise what your native language is, and I'll try to translate for you.

Good point by Kingwood1811. Interline baggage agreement details should be referred to the airline at your point of departure; so United in your case.
