Planning a June Visit

Six friends are planning a visit to the Hill Country, including Fredericksburg. We would like to know the following things:

1. How far to Fredericksburg from Wimberley? Best route to take?

2. Is Wildflower Seeds worth a visit in June? What would be blooming?

3. What other attractions are there in Fredericksburg for a day's visit on Friday, June 4, 2010?

4. The best place to eat lunch and/or dinner in Fredericksburg?

Thanks for your help!

By all means, try Willie's BBQ & Steakhouse, right across from Luckenbach! Worth the drive!

Hi there! I’m writing on behalf of the Fredericksburg Convention & Visitor Bureau. We’re so pleased you and your friends are planning a visit. Fredericksburg is approximately 55 miles northwest of Wimberley. I’ve included a link to Mapquest at the end of this post. Wildseed Farms is a gorgeous property – 200 acres of colorful flowers, plus more. Yes, it’s worth a visit, as is the drive here as we’re still seeing a lot of pretty wildflower fields here and there along the way. There’s a lot to do and see in Fredericksburg… and with over 70 restaurants and bakeries, there’s also lots of great places to eat! Check out our website at www.VisitFredericksburgTX.org for a complete listing of attractions, museums, restaurants, etc. While on our site, check out the Things To Do section. Our Visitor Information Center is located at 302 E. Austin St. -- stop in when you get here to pick up free maps, brochures, etc., and for answers to any Fredericksburg/Gillespie County-related questions in prep for the fun day ahead. We’re here to help -- call us at 1-888-997-3600. Again, thank you for visiting Fredericksburg and Gillespie County! We hope you have fun!
