Swimming near Fredericksburg/Enchanted Rock

We will be hiking at Enchanted Rock and wondered if there are any nearby swimming holes or river areas we can take advantage of. Thanks in advance!

My family just spent the day at the Slab, near Kingsland. This is not an actual park, but rather, a spot where the river runs fairly fast, so there are some mini-rapids, and calmer swimming holes. Just on the south side of Llano, you take 71 off of 16 (towards Austin), left on CR 307 and it will take you to the spot. You'll know you're there when the road dips down and the bridge is just over the river--there will probably be cars parked on the edge of the road! Today they were working on the road, so we had to detour and go through Kingsland--hwy 1431 to 3404, just north of Kingsland, go 1.5 mile W from 1431 on 3404 and you'll be there.

Also, no bathrooms & no shade! But the river is worth it! Just wear your sunscreen!
