Where to stay for a long weekend/Cowboys Game??

We stayed in the Sundance Square area of Fort Worth last year when we came down for a Cowboys game and loved it. Is there any area similar to that in any of the surrounding suburbs? I have been told to look at Grapevine and Las Colinas, but they seem more geared to family and business trips. We are looking for some place with some good (not chain) restaurants and a decent nightlife if possible.

Thanks for any ideas!!

The Sheraton is awesome! Great pool, good for kids, trolley to all the nearby events!! Love it!! To if you really want to go fancy, the Gaylord Texan is amazing!

If you are looking for high-octane entertainment, Grapevine probably won't fit the bill. However, the Glass Cactus, overlooking Grapevine Lake and offering dancing and live entertainment could be just what you're searching for. If you appreciate the fruit of the vine, there are a number of wine tasting rooms along Historic Main Street as well as a couple of vineyards within Grapevine.

Texas Star Dinner Theater offers participatory performances - Friday and Saturday evenings. "Chill" is next door for after-the-show nightclubbing. A block away is Tolbert's - casual dining with live music, Texas style.

Overall, Grapevine is small, offering relatively low-key entertainment with mostly casual, but a couple of upscale restaurants - there may a few niches you may find to your liking for a weekend - worth a look.

Certainly not for everyone, if Grapevine is less energetic than what meets your expectations, I'd look to Dallas' Uptown/McKinney Av and/or the Knox-Henderson area.
