Here's where you can find info:

http://www.dot.state.tx.us/hcr/main.htm

This is the state site, see the upper right hand corner of the web page for wildflower and fall foliage info.

Also see,

lone-star.net/mall/…sightings.htm

this is a great website with postings about where and what is being sighted, at the bottom are the numbers and links for various areas of Texas.

Enjoy your trip!

The Willow city loop just north of Fredricksberg is, in my opinion, the best in Texas. I don't know that the outlook is all that great anywhere this year given the drought conditions last fall though.

the scenery is pretty spectacular. You just have to be patient at first. It seems like you are just going down a country road, then boom you are over looking the Hill Country and seas of purple fields below(on a good rain year anyway)

Good luck!

thank a lot for the info. I guess we can't expect too much this dry year.

I wonder if there is any route closer to Dallas/ft.worth area? like Granberry?

They say we're not going to get many flowers near Dallas due to the drought. I would try to find out if there are any before making a special trip.
