Dallas at New Year

Am doing a cruise on a paddleboat up the Mississippi for Christmas then driving through to Texas ending up in Dallas for the 30 and 31 December staying at the Rennaissance Dallas Hotel. Anyone got any ideas where we can celebrate New Year's Eve? Also whats the weather like in Dallas at this time of the year.

Weather can be in the 80s or snowing, we have extremes. More than likely it'll be in the 50s - 60s. You normally don't need heavy coats here, but light jackets, sweaters are good.

One thing that lots of Dallasites like to do is go to the Pocket Sandwich Theater for the opening of the first melodrama of the year (beer guzzling yahoos love it) dallasobserver.com/issues/…stage.html and http://www.dallas.net/~pst/

If you like dancing you might check out Monica's Aca y Alla in Deep Ellum.

There are things going on at differnt hotels but you'd need to check them out individually.
