Nashville lodging,restaurants & attractions

We will be in Nashville Sept.28th thru Oct 1st and would like some recomendations for all of the above. This will be our first visit and we are country & bluegrass fans from "way back" (George Jones,Hank Williams,Merle,Bill Monroe,Lester & Earl, etc). Of course, George Strait is my all time favorite!!

Any suggestions for how to make the best of our time there would be greatly appreciated!!

If you are wanting to be close to the nightlife, stay downtown. Doubletree, Marriott Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express Broadway will get you close. The Country Music Hall of Fame is downtown, along with the original Ryman Auditorium. The Opryland Complex, along with the current site for the GOO is about 10 miles east of downtown.

There are a variety of clubs, from very small (e.g. Tootsies) to very large (wildhorse Saloon) that will keep you busy.

For Bluegrass, try the Station Inn or the Bluegrass Inn.

Restaurants, downtown, Jacks for BBQ, Calhouns for ribs. Sperrys is a favorite of mine. There are also the usual chains, J. Alexanders, Amerigos, etc. For breakfast, try the Pancake Pantry or Loveless Cafe.

Welcome to Nashville.

You are in Nashville for a good weekend as far as Bluegrass is concerned . Blue highway are playing at the Station Inn on Saturday 30th Sept ($12 admission)

This is a great club, you can find out more from the website www.stationinn.com.

If you like bluegrass I can't imagine a better place to be. Club does bar snacks and beer. Music starts around 9pm.
