Entreamigos - Doing good in San Pancho

I just wanted to direct all those visiting the lovely town of San Pancho to the Entreamigos community project. http://www.centrosanpancho.com/

Entreamigos is an amazing force in this small town, linking visitors and locals in a great project to bring needed services and help to the local community. Nicole Swedlow has established an organization that is truly making a difference here. There is a small store on the main street that sells local products, including art made by local children involved in the EA created art projects, etc that directly benefits these projects. This is just the beginning however. A library has been created with donated books and computers for the local community. Scholarships are used to help local families with the costs of public school (not free), and much much more.

Please stop in at the store, say hello, and help support the local community. This is a unique opportunity in a unique place, allowing visitors to truly be a part of a place they visit.

We purchased the most beautiful hand painted wall hook plaque at Entreamigos. We only regret not having bought the beautiful paintings done by the women they support. We'll be back!

If you are traveling to San Pancho in August, you can help the Entreamigos children. Here is an email I received today:

Hi friends,

School is about to start in San Pancho and this is a quick email asking anyone that is traveling to/from san pancho in August to please bring Girl's Backpacks to help outfit our scholarship kids.

New and lightly used are welcome. We need school supplies also but our most urgent need are the backpacks as they are very expensive to buy here and we only have 3 in the storage room (and probably 25 girls in need).

Backpacks can be dropped off at entreamigos and if we are closed, then at any of the real estate companies in town.

We will be sending out our scholarship updates and requests soon.

Coming in late October. What could the Entreamigos community project need at that time. We may have some room. Please give us some ideas. Thanks

Best to get in touch with Nicole directly to ask what she needs. I don't have her email handy, but if you google Entre Amigos I'm sure it will come up.
