2 or 3 nights in Memphis?

Hi, planning a road trip this summer stopping off at Nashville and Memphis, scheduling 2 nights in each. Would you recommend this, or 1 night in Nashville and 3 in Memphis, or visa versa? Thanks.

I go for 2 nights in each, but really each city deserves 3 nights, IMO. Where else do you plan on visiting? How long have you got in the states? Any children? All adults?

Also be aware the south is very hot in the summer

You'll find several really good tours to take, Graceland,Sun & Stax Studios, a top zoo and a great baseball park to take in a game in addition to Beale St. in Memphis. In addition to the world's best pork barbeque and unique fried chicken, there are two top U.S. 100 restaurants, a master chef run restaurant, a top U.S.100 most romantic restaurant plus hundreds of others to choose from in Memphis. There are Casinos just down the road. - 3 days IMO.

Nashville has Opry, Lower Broadway Honkytonks, Country singers rising in The Bluebird Cafe, The Hermitage, Bellemeade, somewhat upgraded shopping. - at least 2 days IMO.

I spent 3 night in Memphis and 4 in Nashville - I could have used 1 more in Memphis and 1-2 more in Nashville. It really depends on your interests though.
