I've been to both. Better? On what sense? We can't help without more info.
Where are you staying? What do you hope to do/see in either Millport or Loch Katrine? Do you have a car?
Sorry - that was meant to be "In what sense?"
Millport is better, as it's on an island in the Firth of Clyde.
Loch Katrine is better is you like driving to your scenic spots. There's a lovely old boat on the loch for trips.
If you only have 1 day, then it would be wise to base yourself around Glasgow.
Should of mentioned, I already stay in Glasgow. I've got a car.
I want to take a mate, who's come from abroad, on a trip - seen as its been a good few sunny days. Wouldn't mind some sort of forrest activities or sporting stuff.
I really enjoyed taking the steam boat ride on Loch Katrine. It was scenic and interesting as it was a steam boat. ; ) Pam
I've been to both, in fact we go walking or cycling most weekends in the
Both places have cycle hire available.
Millport has pubs as well as cafes - Loch Katrine has cafes at Trossachs Pier and Stronachlachar.
Take a boat trip on Loch Katrine, round trip or get off at Stronachlachar and walk or cycle back the 13 miles on tarmac (cycle hire at Trossachs Pier).
I think the boat trips run from around April to October!!
My personal choice would be Loch Katrine, as there is so much scenery on the way and while you are there.
