seafood

We are staying in cellardyke Sept 11-18. I read somewhere about a great seafood shed down by the harbour in Crail but the source says it closes sometime in September. Does anyone know if it would be open during the middle of September when I am there?

Also, any suggestions for good places for seafood - no need for fancy, just fresh and good.

This sounds like the place you're thinking of..."The Lobster Hut" where the food is sold from a hut at the harbour. From quick look at the internet it appears the hours during Apr-Sep are Tuesday to Sunday 12.00pm to 4.00pm, closed Mondays. However they only open at weekends at other times so you may or may not be lucky depending when in September their hours change - you'll find out quick enough. Food is served in basic form apparently so you need to go prepared if you want to accompany it (lemon, salad, drinks).

The East Neuk has quite a few places which would meet your requirements for seafood - see TA reviews for the area to get a broad consensus (Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem, St Monans). One where you're staying gets good reviews -

You may want to try this restaurant in St. Monans which is quite close to Cellardkye
