What to do in Inishbofin when the weather is bad

Hi, I've arranged to go to the Inishbofin next weekend but the weather forecast is not looking good. We had planned to do a lot of outdoor activities but it doesn't look like these will now be possible. What kind of things can you do on the island indoors? Thanks!

I was on Inishbofin in February a couple of years ago during bad weather, and I'd have to say the answer is feck all! Bring wet weather gear and go for the walks anyway. it's very dramatic during stormy weather and if you're wrapped up and waterproof, then it would be a bit of fun strolling arounf. Off season is not a great time to visit. You'll have the pub and the hotel. That's about it really.

'what to do when the weather is bad?' - put on an extra layer of waterproofs, a woolly hat, a pair of gloves, and carry on with whatever you had planned!!

Well, it was exactly a year ago when we went to Inishbofin and the weather was indeed horrendous. Even though our hotel was great and we did enjoy the trad sessions in the pub, I have to be honest, my advice for you, if the weather is looking bad is to reschedule. We were very bored during the day time and ended up just reading in our hotel. Although this was fine, we felt like we could have been doing that at home. We did go out walking on both days and yes the views are lovely but it was freezing and the wind would cut you in half!

Inishbofin is gorgeous but I think you are better off saving it for the summer.

How do these old threads resurrect themselves after so long?

Things to do indoors: the ditzy fiddle player at Murrays. Buy her some Guinness's and she will be yours for the weekend
