Neither hub nor myself had been here in a very long time, but we revisited it yesterday afternoon with the kids.
I had forgotten how wonderful it is. A lovely walk up the steps through trees, with the flat area at the top. Then you climb up through scrub and trees again to the statue at the top. The views of the River Shannon are spectacular. Really wonderful. Then you can descend by a gravelled path (or you can do it the other way around!!)
The children (10 & 14) were fascinated by the trees and their colours and the acorns.
If you're in the area and want a quick climb that is not too onerous and that has a rewarding view, then this is the place for you.
Setrights pub is only a couple of minutes away if you need to refresh yourself afterwards.
