Pawley's in the fall?

Planning on visiting, but can't until at least mid-September to mid-October. Will it be warm enough to be on the beach/in the water?

thx.

once we've checked into our house, we tend to zone out on the beach. Here is my list of restaurants and carry outs that might interest you:

Bistro:

(This is a private club, but I think vacationers can dine there.)

Family Friendly (especially for small children):

(Great hamburgers, peanut shells on the floor, etc.)

Carry out:

(Frozen enrees and sides in addition to bake goods and gourmet condiments)

Once you get to Columbia, don't listen to your GPS. It will most likely want to send you on interstates, and there is a better way to do this. On Google Maps, enter "Gerogetown, SC" as your destination. From Columbia, you will take highway 76 to Sumter, 521 to Georgetown and 17 up to Pawleys. You will pass through Sumter, Manning, Andrews and Georgetown and you will see direction signs as you move along. Once you are in Georgetown, take Highway 17 to Pawleys. Directions are well marked. Columbia can be a bit tricky to get through, so look for directions through the city. You will stay on 76 as you do this, but there are several turns. Perhaps if you enter "Sumter" as your destination once you get off the Interstate, your GPS will get you through the city. GPS's like interstates, and ours usually tries to send us to Florence and down from Myrtle Beach. You don't want to do that.

Have a great trip!

Actually I forgot one! There is a new restaurant opening in the Hammock Shops:

I love the setting and the historic building here.

"Copy and Paste" makes replies easy! I hope you enjoy the region as much as we have. I "overdid" on this link as well, but it might give you some idea of things you might want to do:

Another "Copy and Paste!" ; - )

Here are the links to the area real estate companies.

pawleysislandrealty.com/sitepages/pid422.php

http://www.litchfieldrealestate.com/

http://www.greatbeachvacations.com/

http://www.sandbarr.com/

http://www.dietercompany.com/PetFriendly.htm

http://www.jwsre.com/

http://www.lachicotte.com/

Most will have a "Pet Friendly" search option. Condo communities typically have policies the prohibit pets, so it's houses where you will find pet friendly rental units. We have rented from all of these companies but Lachiotte, and they've all been easy to work with.

As a friendly suggestion, you might want to take down your post as it contains an email address. You can remove posts under "Report inappropriate content" where you will see a "remove my post" option. If you want to correspond via private message, click my (or any member's name) and you will see the "message" option along the left margin. I like to have discussions out on the forums so other travelers can benefit from the exchange, but sometimes, members prefer private correspondence.
