Myrtle Beach Batchelor Party tips

Me and about 10-11 guys are planning a batchelor party to the Myrtle Beach area in the end of April. We are looking to rent a house and have found one that we like in the Cherry Grove Beach area. We are not going to want a crazy or crowded time and chose this area for that reason. Wanted to know though, how are the restaurants/bars in the area (most of the postings for this subject are several years old) and are there any good seafood restaurants nearby? Also, if the restaurant/bar scene is not great, where would you recommend going in the Myrtle Beach area? A few beer snobs in the group as well, so a good craft beer scene is appreciated! Lastly, is drinking allowed on any beaches in the area?

First two places that come to mind are Duffy St. Seafood Shack for great seafood dinner. And Harold on the Ocean is a laid back bar/restaurant on the ocean. Pretty decent food. Has outside patio and I think music at nights. Plenty of places in North Myrtle Beach area to keep you happy.

Drinking is against the law on the beaches, but !!!!!

If you keep it low key and covered, I have not seen a problem in the past. The ones who seem to get busted are the people or groups that make it very obvious and drink too much. Also, no glass bottles!! If you have a beer in a can that is covered up by a koozie, you should be OK. Keep the bottle of Captain out in the open and act like a college kid pounding shots, then you are going to get busted in a heart beat!!!

Right...what PantherFan said. It is technically illegal to have alcohol on the beach (a public place...and you will see signs posted) BUT....what do you think is in those coolers that everyone lugs to the beach! Just keep it in there...they will not search it. Keep beer in those coozie thingys, or in plastic cups. I have only seen the police stop at a volleyball game where the guys had an obvious beer in one hand and swatting the ball with the other and stumbling onto someone elses blankets.

The sounds of beer cans being popped open can be heard all the time....just be discreet!
