First, God bless you for being brave enough to tackle MB during Spring break. That is the one time of year we won't go there.

What are your kids' interests? There are so many things to do there, but one thing they may really like (perfect ages if they like this kind of stuff), is Magiquest at Broadway---- magiquest.com

There are far too many restaurants in that area, but what types of food do you like? They have your typical tourists restaurants like Margaritaville (we LOVE because it's fun), Hard Rock (food is ok, but they have neat stuff). Definitely hit Broadway at the Beach. They have lots of different things including a mini putt-putt golf section. They have lots of restaurants and lots of little shops. They also have a fabulous Japanese Steakhouse on the water that is really nice at night.

By 'Spring Break', do you mean the week after Easter? That is the week that many local North Carolina public schools have vacation. Please don't imagine that Myrtle Beach will be filled with partying college students that week. Colleges have their breaks at different times - some have even had them. The post-Easter 'break' crowd will be mostly families like you.

Are you looking for hotel recommendations? Do you want to stay in one of the oceanfront resorts? There are a lot to choose from, but folks would be glad to offer you some suggestions.

Spring Break is Myrtle Beach is not like what you see on tv for Spring Break just to let you know. It is more family friendly. Some attractions are Family Kingdom, Nascar Speedpark. Maze Mania, Broadway at the beach, etc.

Wow, thanks everyone, this gives me a great jumping off point. We are staying at Compass Cove? Hope it's ok. Not looking for anything fancy... More like clean and fun.

My boys are pretty open interest wise, but my 12 year old is obsessed with skateboarding. We usually try to find a skatepark for him every vacation as well as hitting the more traditional touristy places. They also surf and do have boards/wetsuits suitable for cold water, hopefully we'll be able to surf at least once. Will have to research a good spot.

Compass Cove is a decent bang for your buck resort. It has several different buildings which have had renovatoins recently.
