Hotel, House or Condo rental w WARM Heated Pool-Spring/Fall?

Any suggestions for a reasonably priced rental home, 3 bed (near beach) with a warm Heated Pool in the cooler months? A Condo or hotel (beach front) with a warm heated pool would also be an option.

Many Condo's have heated pools during Shoulder seasons. these are Oct - November, and March April.

Windsor uses a heat pump for it's pool, so it's comfortable all year long.

check Home Away or Flipkey for rentals.

Marriott has an indoor pool also.

Thanks Stan....Is Windsor a condo complex? Where on HHI is this located? Does a heat pump generally do a better job at heating than other methods?

Without being too technical, a Heat Pump is a combination air conditioner - heater. It is commonly used in this area to provide both air-conditioning and heat to our homes. It is an electrical powered device, and contains two parts, a compressor, and air handler.

A temperature range is set, for example 72 -75 degrees. When a thermostat indicates that the outside temperature is above or below that range, the heat pump then brings the temperature to the desired range.

The one disadvantage is that a heat pump can be ineffective below a certain temperature. Heat pumps normally have a infrared heating element, that only goes on if the outside temperature is below that range. When this emergency heating element runs, it can become quite expensive.

Windsor is a Condo development on the beach in Palmetto Dunes. They went to the heat pump about two years ago. Most Condo's with heated pools use Gas heating elements, and the only source of Gas in the area is propane.

A number of other Condo's are looking at what Windsor did, and may be planning to convert, when they have to replace the heater systems

Thanks for the great info. Stan!

So which type of pump, Gas or heat pump, heats a pool to a warmer temp - or I'm guessing it still primarily depends on what the owner sets the temp. to?

I'll definitely look into the Windsor and check out the "by owner" rentals: home away, flip key and vrbo.

Thanks again!

We have a 3 BR house in Sea Pines that we rent, with a heated pool. I was swimming just last week. Feel free to PM me for details.
