First read my post titled "Priceline Resorts @ HHI, why the mixed reviews".
Stayed there last week for the first time (August 2012), and was a little concerned when I read some of the reviews. Got it for $80/night through priceline and was pleasantly surprised:
Great Pool, Has approximately 3 or 4 acres of lush landscaped courtyard, pool area, pavilion area and lagoon between the beach and hotel (hammocks on grounds). Good service, friendly staff, great beach. Good location, it is farther south than the other resorts.
The property is showing its age (same as the other resorts at HHI), it could use an update, most rooms do not have a view (it is shaped like a letter "U" with the base of the "U" being the front desk/elevator area, and the two ends of the you pointing at the beach (it is only 5 stories tall). It can be a long walk from the elevator to your room depending on where you are assigned, so consider spending the $10 on a bellman, versus lugging everything to your room yourself. The toilets are very loud, you will know when your neighbors use the bathroom. The rooms are small.
If you are getting this resort at under $120/night in peak season, it is a deal. If you are paying higher than that, you will probably be disappointed. I have found that all 4 resort properties listed on priceline are about the same, each has something unique; for this property, it is the pool/lagoon area which sets it apart from the others. The Westin and Hilton have better rooms.
