Hilton Head Vacation - Best Time

We would love to visit South Carolina and have read a lot of good reports about Hilton Head. But what will the weather be like early June.......it is likely to be rainy. If anyone knows any good hotels in the area or somewhere really pretty because it's our Silver Wedding Anniversary and we want something special.

This is not anything like your home country. Expect beautiful beach weather in the high eighties or low nineties in June. There may be some showers in the afternoon, but it is a little early to worry about hurricanes ruining your week.

There are three first class hotels on the beach, and one just off the beach.

In order of preference

The Hilton Resort in Palmetto Dunes - A suite hotel right on the beach

The Westin in Port Royal - A classy hotel in the mold of a more european style.

The Marriott at Palmetto Dunes - The tallest building on the island and a short walk to tennis, and 2 golf courses.

Some other possibilities

The Inn at HarbourTown - situated on the famous Harbortown course, this inn has an antebellum feel

The Crown Plaza in Shipyard. A short walk to the beach with Van der Meer Tennis right next door.

The Daufauskie Island Resort and Spa - Not on Hilton Head itself, this is situated on an island nearby, with transportation by ferry from Hilton Head or Savannah. The resort has all amenities, two championship golf courses, and a spa.

Finally the Inn at Palmetto Bluff. - This is a very very upscale resort with probably the best golf course in the area. It is not on Hilton Head proper but nearby in Bluffton. The hotel is on property formerly owned by the Union Camp Corperation, and was used by corporate executives for hunting and as a retreat.

Many of our visitors come here and rent condo's amd houses. You can find many of these available by owner, on www.cyberrentals.com or www.vrbo.com
