Beach Access

Is there easy beach access around the pier? Also, what about parking? We are staying at Turn Of the River Condo and will probably have to drive to the beach.

Weekday parking should not be a problem...public beach access is close to the pier. You could also pay to park in a couple of spots. Weekends, if hot and sunny, you will need to be there early.

There is easy beach access almost everywhere - that's the beauty of a long skinny island like Folly! You will have to pay to park at the pier, but you can park along the street for free if all four of your tires are off the pavement. There's also a $5 fee to park at the other county Beach Park at the far right hand side of the island. The park also has lifeguards, bathrooms, a snack bar and other amenities that are nice if you're at the beach all day. (Turn right on Ashley Avenue at the stop light if the ocean is in front of you and go all the way to the end ) http://www.ccprc.com/index.asp?NID=61#Park

But do try to go earlier for the best parking. Then head back for a late lunch and spend the rest of the day at your complex's pool.
