Casual 1st night Dinner?

We are traveling to Charleston the first part of May and will be staying at Hampton Inn-Historic District. We have made reservation's for all of our trip except for arrival night. We are scheduled to land at the airport around 3:00 on May 4th (a Sunday). We were hoping for a nice relaxed place to start with as most of our other reservations are for some of the more recognized, upscale restaurants in town...Magnolia's, Hank's, Halls Chophouse, Blossom...

Any suggestions for a casual place to grab a good sandwich/salad/dessert?

Eli's Table on Meeting St., Hominy Grill on Rutledge Ave. a little farther away, or Caviar and Bananas, which I think is on St Philips St., had a good selection of all three categories.

LEAF at 15 Beaufain Street may meet your needs-- can view menu on-line.

Five Loaves has the best soup & sandwich you could hope to find. Casual. Across the street is Fuel, even more casual, but I don't like the food as much. The third corner is Lana, nice Italian, casual but maybe more than you're hoping to get into for this dinner. All these are within walking distance of Hampton Inn.

Even closer are Basil Thai (not soup&sandwich, but casual, light and delicious), 39 Rue de Jean, and Pane E Vino, another favorite Italian, casual but probably not the best choice if a toddler's involved - unless it's warm enough to sit on the patio.

We really liked Coast which is practically next door, down the alley. There is also a steak and an Italian restaurant in the alley but they were alittle more expensive. 39 Rue de Jean is also right next door but Coast had better food.

Thanks for all the replies, do any/most of these places have outdoor/patio seating? We thought that'd be a great way to start our trip!

Several of them have outdoor seating, all of them have websites. Enjoy!
