Accommodation Location - Help Please

Hi, I am looking at a carriage house on VRBO on Broad near Meeting. Looking on VRBO so that we have kitchen facilities for breakfast or late night snacks. While we are seniors, we don't mind a bit of walk to attractions or public transportation. Reviews say that the closest trolley is 5 blocks away. Is that about right? Appreciate your help.

I don't know where the trolley stops, but the location you describe is excellent!

The corner of Broad and Meeting, known here as the Four Corners of Law, is central to historic Charleston - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Corners_of_the_Law

"South of Broad" is Charleston's famous residential area, with grand homes and gardens dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Some of these homes are museum homes, open for public tour. Walking along Broad and just north of Broad, you will see many wonderful galleries, shops, The Gibbes Art Museum, restaurants, etc. As easy walk east and one block north takes you to the City Market, while east and south leads you along East Bay Street, with many more restaurants.

The location is truly in the heart of the historic district, as you may see from this Preservation Society map https:/…peninsula-map.php

Here is a link to the DASH trolley map. The green line seems to pass right along Broad from King Street to East Bay Street, and through the intersection at Meeting Street -

If you can post a link to the VRBO you are considering, we can advise more precisely about the location and the walk to the trolley. I found one described as being about "5 blocks from the trolley"; but, that one is not located on Broad Street, but in the residential area South of Broad. Lovely location, but not on a trolley stop as the trolleys do not run South of Broad. Is this it? http://www.vrbo.com/297931

kiawahvilla, yes, the vrbo that you linked is the one that we are looking at. But it is now booked for our time - guess I need to move faster :) Back to looking - trying to stay around $200 per night. Thanks.

If you like the central location of Broad and Meeting Street, The Jacobson Building is a historic structure located right on Broad Street, so very easy access to the trolley. You probably would not have found the Jacobson Building in a VRBO search, because the VRBO listing shows it as a large (4 bedroom/3 bathroom) home, accommodating eleven guests!

While it is possible for large groups to rent the entire Jacobson Building (and many do), all rooms and suites are "lock offs", which can be rented individually and in various configurations. Thus, a couple on their own can rent a private one bedroom/one bathroom unit.
