Cruise from Charleston

Where would be the best place to stay for the night before a cruise? We would be driving in and need to park our car for 7 nights. Would taking the water taxi from Mount Pleasant with luggage be a possibility?

Make sure wheverever you stay, the hotel will allow parking for 7 days without you occupying a room. Most HD hotels charge daily for parking.

I don't know about luggage on the water taxi, you would have to contact them to inquire about that. As noted above, check with the hotel, because not all of them will allow you to leave a car unattended in their lot.

The hotels listed on that site are all out in North Charleston near the airport, some provide transportation to the port, some do not. One says it is 10 min from the port! haha 10 minutes by helicopter maybe.

Go to the website for the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau where you can find information about places to stay that offer parking when you are on your cruise. Make sure you read the "details" info for the hotel as only some of those listed allow you to park there during the cruise.

Charleston doesn't have enough space for all the cars, so you have 2 choices. Pay for a garage downtown at $10+/day, or park farther away.

Maybe Park&Go in North Charleston, use their complimentary shuttle to the airport, then the $12 shuttle to town.

The water taxi has plenty of room for luggage, but it doesn't run in winter months and doesn't solve your parking question.
