Fripp Island....tides....and the beach

Considering renting an oceanfront home on tarpon blvd on Fripp Island.

Are the beaches on that part of the island generally usable even during high tide or do they completely disappear?

I'd really appreciate any feedback as we are down to decision time.

Hi Va_Terptraveler,

The beaches on Tarpon Boulevard are not good... there is barely one at low tide and by high tide the waves crash into the rock reinforcements. If you are looking for "usable" beach, you will want to rent between the Beach Club (center island) and the side streets like Rock Beauty, Winter Trout, Swordfish, Pompano, Sea Dragon, and Seahorse.

Unfortunately, the beaches on Fripp (as the other islands in the area) shift periodically, so sometimes it is difficult to predict. However, I can tell you with great certainty that Tarpon Road properties generally have little to no beach and have been that way for 10+ years.
