Daytrip - From S. Kingstown to Plymouth Plantation

My kids and I will be in Kingstown R.I. around the third week of August and are hoping to have the opportunity to visit Plymouth. I am planning on driving, but being unfamiliar with the roads and traffic in the region has me a bit nervous. Is there a recommended method of mass transit available?

I doubt there is an good way to get to Plymouth from SK, via transit. Driving there wouldn't be too bad, over the bridges and through Aquidneck Island isn't anything too stressful, and quite scenic; then to Route 24 which is a two lane highway, then Route 44 and you're there. If highways make you nervous I would definitely not recommend 95 to 195, to route 24 as the alternative.

Thank you! This looks quite doable and the kids will enjoy the views along the way!
