Crafton...Pubic Transport

I am planning to come over in May next year and will be over for 2 weeks.

I do not drive in the USA and depend a lot on public transport.

I am considering staying at Motel6 which is basic and in the Crafton area and ask if anyone knows..

1-How far it's away from the Train station--(-do they run up till late?)

2-How far is the hotel from the nearest bus stop.?

I have used the bus before and found it great but heard about the cut backs and that they often do not run outside of working hours..ie evenings..

If the transport is poor then I will stay at the Red Roof Inn in Robinson and use the 28x which runs late i believe

Thanks in advance

Keith

The Motel 6 is at the intersection of Old Rte 60 and I-79. I don't think it's anywhere NEAR a train station, but I found this link at Travelocity for the Comfort Inn in Crafton, which is very close to the motel 6

You can also check out the Port Authority website for a trip planner here:

I think the light rail, or T stations, are all in the South Hills area.

many thanks gypsy I will check out the website.

My last visit in late April/May i stayed at the Comfort Inn in banksville Rd but cannot get a quote for next May...

I recall seeing on the bus up to Robinson Township( on the 28X) seeing stations called Idlewood and Crafton, and was wondering if this would be a good choiceMotel 6 crafton) as buses do not always run frequently..

Anyway I will check out that website as this hotel looks good value at about £$35 pn & I will book it if it's in walking distance.

regards

I've been through the area where the Motel 6 is - Crafton isn't the nicest area, but this is up the hill a bit from downtown Crafton.

Since it is very close to the interstate, I think you would have many options for public transportation to the city.
