Reasonably priced hotel in Langhorne area

We will be visiting our daughter in Langhorne (actually, near I-95 and Hwy 1 interchange), and are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay that is not too far away. She has only recently moved there so isn't that familiar with the area yet herself. Very nearby, hotels are running about $170. Any suggestions for something that is clean and safe and in the $100 or less range? Or, at least something closer to $100 than $170? Since she is right off the free-way, suggestions for other towns or areas of Philadelphia itself would be helpful, too. Thanks.

Try Hotwire.com. If you travel west on the turnpike to the next exit Willow Grove, you may find cheaper hotels although you may spend the difference in gas.

Good luck

Thank you for your reply. I did put a watch on with hotwire. Also found the Sleep Inn in Bensalem is less and appears closer than Willow Grove, plus a possible bed and breakfast in New Hope. How are those areas, distance-wise, and the surrounding area in general?

The Sleep Inn in Bensalem would be closer than New Hope, much closer. This is a much nicer hotel than many in the area.

By the way the reason why the Langhorne hotels are pricey in the summer is due to the local amusement park Sesame Place.

There is a new Fairfield Inn off the beaten path but actually close to everything. The scenic view is of some trucking company but it is about 1 minute from the 95/rt1, oxford valley mall and every other store and restaurant you want in that area as well as close to sesame place. Air conditioning/heating problems but very accomodating, indoor pool if I remember correctly (its been open about a year) and a place to play pool. Huge hearty breakfast included as well as full kitchens in suites. Next best, more expensive but a staple in the area is the Sheraton right across from Sesame place and the mall all situation at 95/rt 1. If your really frugal, the Red roof's in the area seem to be all upgraded. I think there is also a Courtyard Marriott next to it's sister hotel the Fairfield. Other than that the Hampton Inn (no pool, right off the Newtown exit (same almost as Langhorne but don't tell the Newtown people that...lol). Hamptons are usually good for the food but this one is high priced cause it's the only one in a very upscale area. I always look at expedia to get the gambit then call each hotel and see how they present themselves. Don't waste your money on sesame place, take about a 45 minute ride to Dorney Park or Great Adventure a quick swish the other way off 7a of the jersey turnpike.
