Dinner between Hershey and Lancaster

We need some help with our dinner plans one night. There will be two 60s somethings who are a bit "picky". Seafood is okay, shellfish is not. No Mexican or Asian. No fried. No buffet. Prefer locally sourced, organic when possible.

We also have two young boys...ages 4 and 5.

Where can we stop for dinner after visiting Chocolate World? Our hotel is in Lancaster. So we can eat in Hershey or somewhere on the way.

Some of the Hershey restaurants I like are Chocolate Avenue Grill, Smoked Bar & Grill, and The Hershey Pantry. Devon Seafood is upscale and very good.

TJ Rockwell's in Elizabethtown is good and would be on your way to Lancaster.

Thank you very much!! I'll give those links to my mother in law so she can decide...it's just easier to let her pick.

Local and organic you might want to look at John Jefferies. http://www.johnjjeffries.com

One of my favorites a little east of Lancaster on Rt 30 is The Revere Tavern. Great food, beautiful stone historical building with a story as well. http://www.reveretavern.com

Hershey pantry is also good as suggested above.

My recommendations...

Hershey:

Chocolate Avenue Grill

Piazza Sorrento

Lancaster:

Lombardo's (my VERY picky 90 year old grandma enjoyed it)

Leaning towards Hershey Panty, Piazza Sorrento, or Chocolate Avenue Grill.

I think we'll need to eat near Hershey, then the kids can fall asleep in the car on the drive back to Lancaster. I'll probably be able to get them in to bed without them waking up.

That's a tough choice, all three are very good restaurants. Whichever one you decide on, I hope you enjoy your meal.

Thanks. I'll give the menus to my mother in law to make the final selection. Wait time will factor in too. If someplace has a 60+ minute wait, my kids will lose it. :) We usually arrive at 5pm to help with that issue.

I agree. I don't think you can go wrong in any of the 3 you've chosen. Reservations aren't a bad idea for Choc. Ave. Grill and Piazza, at least on Fridays and Saturdays. In my experience, 5:00 is right about the time things get busy. I haven't been to Hershey in the summer for a while though, so perhaps someone else could comment on other nights during the week. Either way, best of luck and I hope these suggestions work out for you.

We will be there on a Wednesday, but middle of July. I'm sure it will be busy.
