Does anyone know if there is a footpath from the Travelodge into Amesbury?
The worst bit is getting across the A303 - be very, very careful there, but once you're onto the South-bound Countess Road, there's a pavement. Go on to Google Streetview, walking, and you can see the route.
Incidentally, I think they've marked the Travelodge in the wrong place. It is much, much closer to the big roundabout than is marked. There's a curvy road that looks like it links the A303 to the N. bound Countess Road (with a one-way arrown on it) - that's where the Travelodge is.
Thx for the quick response
This question was also asked (and answered) last month - see tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g528762-i11155-k… - message 6 explains about the location and the footpath subway under the A303.
Blow me, so there is! Thanks for that, Phil. You learn something new every day!
