Used a Tour Guide For 2 days for private touring/transportation back and forth to Managua and he was excellent. He is based in Granada but does the entire country. He specializes in private or small group tours. He worked for several years at a larger tour company as both a trip planner and later a tour guide. He also lived in the USA so his English is excellent. His name is Rodolfo Ortega and he sometimes posts on this forum. He had a seperate driver so he could concentrate on us.
Highlights : he was 100% willing to do anything we wanted. Went out of his way to find anything we were looking for. Included nice touches in his tours such as a stop at a local fruit stand to try each of at least half a dozen fruits i'd never heard of as well as a small family pottery shop , both very interesting. He also did a nice tour guide job with information, history, recommendations etc. He was also always on-time. Contact at rodolfo.nicaragua (at) hotmail.com.
