Tropical storm

Just curious, how did the town manage with the tropical storm this past week? When we were there, they were laying new water and sewer pipes on the road down from Pelican Eyes to the beach ---- there was a lot of hard work going on........

We weathered the storm in typical San Juan style...soggy! The rainfall was around 35-40cms which caused some flooding of homes in low-lying areas, the road to La Virgen (Rivas) was closed for a day or so, and lots of debris on the beach. Surprisingly, the power was pretty stable throughout the whole storm. Relatively light damage. The flood waters receed very quickly here, just leaving a layer of mud to clean up.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know - we have been wondering as we totally enjoyed our time in SJDS this past February and have a special "spot" for the town and people now.
