State Parks near Hershey, PA?

We are planning a trip first to Hershey Park and then to Cedar Point in Ohio. Are there are any nice state parks near Hershey or on the way to Sandusky? We are looking for hiking trails, wildlife, scenery. Any suggestions?

One area we enjoy hiking is the Joseph E Ibberson Conservation Area. It is about 15 miles north of Harrisburg so not exceptionally close to Hersheypark but an easy drive. Several of the trails meet with the Appalachian Trail. The views from the top of Peters Mountain are great.

Hard to predict what you will see. Waterfowl for sure, possibly birds of prey, maybe Whitetail Deer or some smaller critters if you walk one of the trails.

If you are looking for a place to stop over and enjoy the outdoors between Hershey and Sandusky, you should look at the Laurel Highlands of SW PA. Ohiopyle State park offers hiking and biking trails, whitewater rafting and camping.
