Group of 3 of us are coming in Saturday/Sunday/Monday (Aug 02-04) to check out a bunch of the bars and breweries. We need a place within walking distance so I was thinking somewhere near Bailey's taproom because it's between Cascade, Deschutes, Hair of the Dog, and Rogue.
My buddies originally wanted to spend $100-150/night, but I convinced them to raise that to $200-250/night, but I can't find anywhere with vacancies in that area and for that price. They prefer a hotel, but may consider a hostel if we get a 4 person room (northwest portland hostel also doesn't have vacancy though). It seems everything under $300 has no rooms. Are there any B&Bs or alternative lodging that may be an option? Perhaps if there are student dorms in the area?
If we stay out of the area, what may be a good recommendation that will be accessible by public transit? Keep in mind the areas we will be going and the fact we will be out til around 2 or 3am.
Any help would be appreciated.
