The Best Western Pierpoint Inn ( bestwesternoregon.com/hotels/… ) is reasonably priced and has great views of old-town Florence. It's located just across the Siuslaw River bridge from town and very close to Sandland Adventures ( http://www.sandland.com/ ). Sanddunes Frontier ( http://www.sanddunesfrontier.com/ ) is just a few miles further south.

As for eats, there are several very good restaurants on Bay Street in old-town, an easy walk from the Pier Point. The Waterfront Depot, Bay Street Grille, Bridgwater and Traveler's Cove are a few of my favs. The Seafood Station on hwy 101 and Three River's Casino also offer good eats.

Do you already have lodging reservations? In Florence area? If not, you'll have to probably look south as far south as Reedsport or north to Yachats, Waldport or Newport as your base of operations. The US Olympic Track & Field Trials and Oregon Bach Festival in Eugene have pretty much filled the Florence rooms. I am familiar with the dune buggy places near Florence, but someone else will have to help you with anything farther south. All of these are within easy day trips to the dune buggy places just south of Florence.

Sandland Adventures has better equipment IMO, from their quads to their tour busses. Last time I checked however, both companies charged the same.
