RV Parks and winter season. travels

We are planning a trip to the Oregon Coast for the first week in December with the camper and wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to where to stay in Cannon Beach or surrounding coastal spots? .. Looking to do some Christmas shopping shopping first around Portland and then head back up the coast for some sight seeing on our way back to Canada. Any suggestions for shopping destinations to check out or things to see along the coast would be great to get some thoughts. ?

Hi and welcome, Beckie M. I'm a long time RVer.

It sounds as if you should also post in Washington if you are heading north along the coast -- although Hwy 101 does not 'hug' the Washington coast much!

Cannon Beach has the Cannon Beach RV Resort which is pleasant with full hookups. It's not near the beach though. There is another RV park called Sea Ranch which is closer to the beach but spaces are small and tight, and their hookups are not modern.

If you want to stay in Astoria, there are two massive huge campgrounds, and also a lovely full hookup private RV park which is adult-oriented with nice views of a golf course; it's called Lewis & Clark RV Resort and there won't be mud as it's all graveled :-)

Portland of course has the most shopping in major department / chain stores. There is a huge outlet mall south of there at Woodburn. Conveniently - there is a pretty nice RV park right next door and you can just walk over from your campsite! Look at Portland-Woodburn RV Park.

Astoria has some interesting small shops as does Cannon Beach.

Keep an eye on the weather reports as you don't want to be in an RV out on the coastal headlands if it's storming with high winds!
