Rock Springs Dude Ranch and Port Angeles to Vancouver Island

Many thanks for your prompt reply. Don't know what the ferry is called - it could be the Coho ferry! It's the one that takes around 90 minutes to reach Victoria and I gather there are not many sailings. Your advice about booking is very helpful. However, if we miss the sailing we book for, will they let us on the next one? We are actually heading for Tofino on Vancouver Island. I am told this can take 4 - 5 hours to drive to from Victoria. It is therefore important that we manage to co-ordinate our journey from Bend carefully or it will become even longer than we wanted!

Yes, that is the MV Coho ferry. And no, if you miss your reservation, they will not let you automatically get on the next ferry...you will have to go to the back of the line. Since it is a long drive, and you need to be sure you are there in time, you might consider stopping for a night between Bend and PA. Port Townsend is about an hour before PA and is a great place for a night! When we lived in WA we went quite a bit, and even last March we drove from here in Portland to PT and then took the ferry from PA the next morning. If you decide to do that, let me know and I can help with things for PT.
