Golf Widows looking for things to do in June

Our husbands are planning 4 days of golfing in the area. What are some suggestions of things we can do during the day? I have looked over the things to do list and I am really not coming up with more than a day/day and a half of activities.

Thanks!

Well, there is not a whole lot to do in Bandon ;-)

What do you have on your list so far? What sorts of thing interest you? Do you mind driving an hour or so to find things to do/see?

Basically, I have going into town and maybe doing a wine tasting. No issue driving an hour! Any cute shopping areas/towns?

"Old Town" Bandon has a fair number of small shops and if the weather is nice it's pleasant to stroll along the waterfront. There is a small but decent historical museum - it's just off 101 south of the Dairy Queen. They used to be open daily but I think they may have cut their hours.

If you are interested in horseback riding, there is a stable right near the beach that offers beach rides.

You might like to drive about a half hour north up to Charleston (which is a very small fishing village) and then continue to Sunset Bay State Park, Shore Acres Gardens and Cape Arago SP.

Coos Bay / North Bend does have a casino ;-) There is also a small mall there, but I stress the word "small" as it's not like a big city mall.

Interested in a sand dune buggy tour? In North Bend there is... http://www.ridetheoregondunes.com/index.html

Gold Beach is about an hour south and perhaps you might like to try to fit in a half day jet boat ride... http://www.roguejets.com/rates.php Or, you can drive up the south bank road to Agness.

Gold Beach also has the nearly sunken steamship Mary D Hume... tripadvisor.com/Travel-g51887-d1911689/Gold-… , plus a very good bookstore with coffeehouse - the largest on the coast... http://www.oregoncoastbooks.com/

Port Orford has the only boat dolly dock in the USA and also a very pretty beach. Cape Blanco SP has a classic tall lighthouse, and Hughes Historical House... lighthousekeeper.com/public-service/CapeBlan…

Hope this gives you some ideas you can use :-)

There is the 2nd Street Gallery that is in old town. Also the 2 lighthouses are fun to visit - Bandon Lighthouse and Cape Blanco Lighthouse.

Will you have kids with you?

It is a nice scenic drive to Port Ortford as well which is about an hour south.

I like to go agate hunting by the south Jetty.
