you could check out the Gazette's Halloween Parade

travelok.com/listings/…event.1614

You could check out the old state capital in Guthrie(it was the original capital of Oklahoma, it was then moved to OKC)http://guthrieok.com/

there is the boathouse district

http://riversportokc.org/ boathousedistrict.org/youth-pavilion-sky-tra…

but it will likely be too cold at that time.

Also the University of Oklahoma Plays Texas Tech that weekend if you want to get tickets and go.

hope some of this helps.

you could also do a canal ride and get some of the downtown highlights/history in one stop. Plus, the Memorial is close, museums, parks, restaurants, etc.

I like all the ideas above. If you are staying downtown, the Oklahoma River is a good place to go for a run as they have descent trails. Hefner Lake off Hefner Parkway and Britton probably has the best running trails in the city. Downtown has a lot better sidewalks than in years past so jogging in that area into Midtown (depending on the distance you are wanting) could be good.

Looks like the all the highlights were covered. I'll second the running on the OKC river trails.

You could also catch a live performance somewhere, such as Lyric Theatre.

Don't miss the OK Bombing Memorial.

Western Heritage and National Cowboy Hall of Fame would also be a good place to check out.

There is more than enough great things for a weekend trip. Have fun!

mykapone, good point on a live performance at Lyric Theatre, They will doing The Rocky Horror Show and tickets are about $40 a piece. The show is R-rated, so no kids.
