Walking around in Toledo

Does Toledo have an area that's popular for folks to walk around in summer months - i.e. Is there a popular downtown "shopping" area and perhaps a riverside walk where people tend to go? I will be visiting the botanical gardens and art museum in July and am wondering where else we should park the car and take a walk around. Thank you.

Toledo area metroparks have nice trails for walking. It is very close to the botanical gardens too, right of Central ave at Reynolds rd. You could also try International Park at the docks across the river from downtown. Downtown itself has a little bit of action if there is a Mudhens game going on. There are several bars and restaurants there. If there is no game going on, it may be a ghost town. There is also Stranahan Arboretum. As far as outdoor shopping areas, you could try Fallen Timbers (brand new) or Levis Commons. Good luck!

All the Toledo Metroparks are nice. (Oak Openings Mallard Lake is my favorite)

Grand Rapids, Ohio about 35 minutes west of Toledo is a very cool place.
