Hocking Hill Cabins? In the park or out of the park?

Hello all!

I'm trying to find a suitable cabin for four people for the third week in June. I've been using the Hocking Hills site to find some, however, most of the ones I come up with are 15-20 minutes away from the park.

I was hoping for a cabin with AC and possibly a hot tub with two beds can anyone recommend a cabin that isn't too pricey? (I'm thinking 100-140 per night)

From your guys experience is it preferable to stay in the park? I've visited other parks and stayed in cabins there and it was nice to be able to drive just a few seconds to all the attractions but Hocking Hills looks much bigger than anywhere I've stayed, would staying out of the park make a difference?

Any information is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Also, is there any cabins offered by the park? All of the cabins I seem to be coming up with are independently owned cabins but when I visit other state parks I usually stay in cabins ran by the parks. Is there anything like this offered?

Thanks again!

The state parks do have cabins for rent. They are rustic and won't have hot tubs but they are a stone's throw from the lodge swimming pool and hiking trails. They get booked up fast for the summer season.

If location is important to you, it is very wise to check to proximity to the parks. As you have discovered, many advertised cabins are not that close to the state parks in the Hocking Hills.

Old Man's Cave Chalets might have what you're looking for. They offer large and small cabins throughout the Hocking Hills area. http://www.oldmanscavechalets.com/

Thanks so much for the prompt response Jenny!

Old Man's Cave Chalets are exactly what we were looking for. We booked a small cabin and cannot wait for our visit!

Thanks again!

Snuffles, hope you had a great time at Hocking Hills! You've already taken your trip, but for others interested in accommodations in the HH area that are near a # of the parks, we highly recommend "Comfort in the Woods." New cabins, immaculate, modern appliances, comfortable beds, lots of decking with hot tubs. I noticed on their website that they've just built a 2 bedroom unit:
