So many wise contributors on this forum, thought I'd benefit from your experience...
We are booked at Highlander Cottages for 6 nights in late April. Flying in and out of Launceston. Our last trip to Tassie in mid Dec had us walking in hail, 6C, so this trip we allowed more time in the one location in order to hopefully get some nice weather to enjoy those autumnal colours.
Our children will be 16 and 13. I think our walks will be up to 4 hours.
That summit walk looks too risky, and too long, can someone comment on the walk to the base?
I am thinking a return hike to Marion's lookout via Wombat Pool would be a nice walk, and perhaps another along the Dove Lake then off to Lake Wilks (there's a steep part?) .
We'd like to return to Montezuma Falls as we didn't complete that last time (a bit of a drive to get there, but more sheltered if it's a windy day)
That's 3 days of half day hikes... any other suggestions?
What else to do with teenagers? Or if it's rained in?
(PS Have enjoyed the Dove Lake clockwise vs anticlockwise debate ..great work, guys.)
