several of us need to limit the lenght of walks we take. Can you tell me how far the village is from the beach, then how far the waterfall is from the village? If it's far would we be happy with just a visit to the beach?

It is hard to put a distance on the walk from the beach to the waterfall becuase the streets are not like streets in the US, but I would guess a mile or less, but again this will not be a normal mile there is a lot of up hill walking, but you don't have to hurry slow down and enjoy the town and the people, make it a stroll not a walk. At the waterfall there is a nice cafe to have a drink and a snack, enjoy.

Hola: The village to the beach is about 20 minutes for a strong adult, longer for those who walk slowly. However, its relatively easy to catch a ride on one of the water taxis that circle the bay before/after their trips to/from PV. The village waterfall is an easy 10-minute walk from the town pier, paved the whole way. From the beach you can also stroll upriver, an easy and totally flat route. Where will you be staying? If you're happy just hanging out at the beach and taking in the local color, you'll be fine. If you want to be closer to the "nightlife" and restaurants that are open for dinner, consider staying in the village. www.yelapa.info has many links to accomodations all around the cove. Enjoy!
