Birmingham International airport is right next to the airport. I know when I came off a flight from Spain, to get to the platform was only 5 min or so walk.

Stoke on Trent is the nearest station to your hotel, its only about 1 mile.

Return for 1 adult and child is from £25, check out www.nationalrail.co.uk

Advance tickets are cheaper, but the sooner you book the better price.

As magicbeer rightly says,Stoke on Trent station is the place to get off for the Hotel.

Have you got transport sorted from the Holiday Inn Express to Alton Towers? It's about a 20 minute drive to Alton Towers.

Just to check.....is it The Holiday Inn Express in Stanley Matthews Way,Stoke ,by the Britannia Stadium, that you have booked ? We have stayed in this hotel and it was really great.

(There is another one in Newcastle,Stoke-on-trent which is further away from the station and also further away from Alton Towers )

There is normally a little tram running from the airport to the airport station. You arrive from your flight on the ground floor then go up to 1st for the tram. You will probably have to change trains in Birmingham, look for the lifts which go down into a passageway if you have a lot of luggage.

No change of train is needed, you can get 2 direct trains an hour.
