Hi CarolIan

Visit Spinalonga - the former leper collony. Read the book 'The Island' by Victoria Hislop to bring it to life to you before you visit.

Take a taxi ride to the 3 old villages up the mountain, lovely for a meal in the evening and a real Greek experience.

Take a boat trip to Sissi. A beautiful village, have lunch at a taverna.

Visit Knossos

There are lot of things to do , I'm sure someone will come back with more ideas.

Enjoy your holiday

Yvonne

Hi there

Will you be renting a car or relying on public transport? A car really opens up your choices and makes it a lot easier to get around.

Do not fail to visit the Aquaworld Aquarium. Click on 'Things to Do' on the left of this page and it is number one. Be sure to be there at 10.00AM for feeding time at 10.30. I promise that you will not be disappointed, it really is a quite unique experience.

You have to do Spinalonga and Knossos as Yvonne says and also go to Ag Nik it's gorgeous. Don't go for your holiday company trips though, we booked through a local company and they were nearly half the price and all we had different was a worse coach.

Hi There

I would also recommend a trip to Spinalonga, if you arent hiring a car then why not catch the bus to Agios Nikolaos from here you can either catch another bus the short distance to the pretty village of Plaka, where it is only 8 euros return and a 5 min boat trip across the bay to the island - or it you prefer you can catch one of the boat that leaves from the harbour in Agios to Spinalonga, only 14 euros return..much cheaper than any of the organised tours :-)

I would also recommend a trip to the pretty village of Milatos too - very low key village with some lovely beach side tavernas great for lunch :-) and if you are hiring a car then go and visit the caves too..
