Local stream?

Hi everyone! We're in Columbus right now and having a great time. Thanks for all of the advice so far. We've enjoyed everything suggested.

My boys (5 and 7) had asked if there was a stream they could play in? This is something we often do at home- looking under rocks, scooping with a net while wading in, etc. Is there any place like that around? A state park maybe? Extra points if it's on the east side of the city back towards Pittsburgh.

Thanks

I can't help with any in Columbus, but I can suggest a couple on your drive to Pittsburgh from Columbus.

1) At Salt Fork State Park, the hiking trail to Hosak's Cave goes out on once side of a small stream and back on the other side. There is also a beach if you prefer to go swimming. Here is the location on google maps: https://maps.google.com/maps…

2) At Oglebay Park, there is a creek with a waterfall next to the road. Here is the location on google maps: https://maps.google.com/maps…

There's a waterfall at Griggs reservoir you can probably do that. Also, check Sharon Woods or Highbanks Metro Parks

Three Creeks metro park! Lots of water access, though the water may be high right now because of the recent thunderstorms. It's on the east-ish side of town, too. http://metroparks.net/ParksThreeCreeks.aspx
