Columbus with Children

Hi! We are visiting with my children (ages 10, 8, 7, 4) in April to celebrate two birthdays. We have visited before, but I would like to make the most of our trip and am looking for some advice. We plan on going to COSI and Easton (for the Lego and American Girl stores). We are staying for two nights / three days. Any restaurants that are great / fun for younger kids (we are planning two dinner nights - one for each kid's bday)? Any other attractions that are great for families or young kids? Thanks for all your help!

Thanks for this thread! We are going to Columbus over Mother's Day weekend with a 5 and 7 year old. We'll be sure to check out COSI but are looking for other more outdoorsy suggestions. Hiking trails, sand pits, cool playgrounds, etc. Any suggestions?

Where are you staying? The zoo is great. I doubt the splash pads will be open by then. Schiller Parkis nice and you can get sandwiches to go from Brown Bag deli and have a picnic. There are a lot of good neighborhood parks. It just depends upon where you are staying. The Audobon Center has nice trails and a nice playground. And the Art Museum is free on Sundays with a neat kids' area

Here's the link for Scioto Audubon Park. It's very near Schiller Park, which may have sand pits and definitely has playground equipment.

These natural play areas may offer an alternative to sand pits.

All of the Metroparks with natural play areas also have playground equipment.
