How long to split up or not between Cape Trib/Pt. Douglas

I had thought of either staying 6 nights in Ferntree cabins at Cape Trib or splitting it up between there and Pt. Douglas. Which do you recommend and do yo know Ferntree cabins?

Ferntree Rainforest Lodge appears to have mixed reviews:-

Depending on your interests I'd suggest splitting your stay - 2-3 days at Cape Trib and likewise in Port. At CT (a very small place with limited restaurants and only a couple of shops) you have rainforest, beaches, walks, sea kayaking, half-day reef trips, jungle canopy surfing, nearby Daintree Discovery Centre etc. In Port you have restaurants, bars, beach, shops, reef tours, Wildlife Habitat and a livelier nightlife.

I hope this helps!
