Transfer time to your resort

Many still ask how long so I would like to do a poll with all of our members who have taken any type of transport to their Akumal resort (GBP, ABR, GORM, or GS)

Please let me how log it took you:

Type of transport (e.g. Private vs airline supplied)

Time (from clearing customs to checking in

Resort

Time of day

Thanks

Last year it was about 1 hr 45 minutes by a private transfer, time of day was early afternoon. Biggest delay was trying to get thru Playa, boy has that little town grown up. This year I will let you know in 15 days!!!!!!

May 2009 took about 1 hour 15 minutes late afternoon from CUN to the ABR. The traffic was light, it was the time of the swine flu scare so got through Customs in no time at all, same with Immigration.

This was a private transfer with USA Transfers.

From the time we stepped off the plane, thru customs, baggage pick up, baggage check (red light/greenlight) , buy a couple beer at the stand by the bus, on the bus (BEST DAY Transfers) and to Resort (2 Hotel stops before GBP)

2 1/2 hours .

1 1/2 hours, it isn't as bad as it seems, especially if you like to meet new folks and chat along the way.

10. Re: Transfer time to your resort

Last March, we arrived at the airport at around 8:40 am and it took about 20 minutes to 1/2 hour to get our bags and get through customs. We caught a direct transfer with cancuntransfers and were at the GBP Coba (Royal Golden)lobby by 10:25AM. We did stop at a convenience store (for about 5 minutes) on the way for some drinks. The people who were on our flight and took the bus arrived about 1 hour and 25 minutes after we did. Seemed to be a fair amount of traffic.

Our return flight was late at night and cancuntransfers picked us up about an hour after the bus left and we beat them by about 20 minutes. Apparently they had 3 other stops and the bus was stuck in 2nd gear for the entire trip. Our travel time on the return was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Traffic was lighter due to the travel in the evening (8:30 PM). Hope this is what you wanted VSG.

Cheers.
