I am by no means an expert! But was wondering if there is any place in the area of Gran Bahia Principe that we could snorkel in water that is not very deep & calm!

I would really like to try this but am rather nervous about deep water.

Any advice etc.

We are leaving for GBP Coba on Feb 9th. Count down has begun!

Thanks, Gail

Take a taxi to XelHa for the day. It is great fun and the snorkeling is great. The water is calm and people of all ages (beginners to experienced) snorkel there. There is alot to do at XelHa. Check out xelha.com and also check out some of my XelHa photos.

You can snorkel right on the resort in front of the Akumal hotel. The water is only waist deep and you will see a lot of fish. It is not rough and very safe.

It's great for first timers. If you feel unsafe, just stand up, as long as you are not near any coral, you will be fine.

There is no coral right by the pier and lots of fish to see.

I hope this helps.

Go to Akumal Bay. You can eat at Lol ha restaurant and rent chairs there for the day for just a few dollars. Snorkel right there or walk south a bit to akumal Beach Resort to snorkel.
